Jason Wlach joined Rice Financial in August 2011 from Morgan Stanley where he provided quantitative structuring and analytical support on more than $3 billion of senior managed transactions for municipal electric and water utilities. Mr. Wlach has experience evaluating numerous types of complex financing structures, including tax-exempt and taxable municipal debt, interest rate derivatives, renewable energy project financings, variable and fixed rate bonds, and electric and gas prepayment bond structures.
Mr. Wlach’s senior managed transaction experience includes financings for the Lower Colorado River Authority, City of San Antonio (CPS Energy), Salt River Project, Long Island Power Authority, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative, Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency and Connecticut Transmission Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative.
In an earlier position as a Public Finance Analyst at J.P. Morgan, Mr. Wlach prepared quantitative risk management analyses of institutional clients’ fixed income portfolios, including the optimization of capital structures through asset-liability matching and the utilization of derivatives to hedge risk exposure. He also provided day-to-day banking support for state housing issuers and served as the sole analyst on over $500 million of senior managed housing bond transactions.
Mr. Wlach received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis where he majored in finance, accounting and international business.
